Andover, MA – Optima Synchro had a prolific presence at the 2017 East Zone Region D Intermediate and Age Group Championships, qualifying 11 routines for the top events for the year – the US Junior Olympics National Championships and East Zone Intermediate Championships.
“Our girls worked so hard to qualify for Junior Olympics and the Zone Championships, and all their hard work paid off,” said head coach Svetlana Malinovskaya. “They set their goals, practiced well and even did some extra work on their own. I am so proud of our athletes! Our team qualified the maximum number of routines in all events entered! Now we are preparing for the largest event of the season.”
Routines that placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Age Group Duet, Team and Combo, and 1st and 2nd place in Solo qualified for the National Junior Olympics to be held June 30-July 8, in Riverside, CA.
Routines that placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Intermediate Solo, Duet and Trio qualified for the East Zone Intermediate Championships, June 2-4, in Buffalo, NY.
