2023 – 2024 Artistic Swimming Invitational

The first artistic swimming competition of the 2023-2024 season concluded at Wheaton College on November 19th, featuring 30 talented swimmers from the Optima Synchro team across different skill levels, ranging from Novice to Age group.

In the Novice category, our remarkable 7 and 8-year-old swimmers delivered outstanding performances, showcasing poise and skill despite having only two months of synchro practice. All swimmers secured top 9 placements, with Madelyn Shen notably clinching 1st place with a remarkable 2-point lead over the runner-up.

Transitioning to the Novice 9-10 years old category, our three swimmers, who began synchro training in September, demonstrated commendable prowess. Ellie claimed 1st place, while Mina and Amelia secured the 3rd and 4th positions, respectively.

Continuing the winning streak, the 10U intermediate group, including Avery, Alexis, and Alivia, seized the top three awards. Special mention goes to Ruiying and Nicole, newcomers to Optima this year, who executed all figures successfully and secured the 8th and 9th places!

In the 11-12 Intermediate group, all three swimmers with a year of synchro experience each secured the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions, showcasing their growing proficiency.

While the Age group competition proved highly competitive, our swimmers adeptly navigated the pressure, resulting in excellent performances. Particularly in the 12U age group, Optima swimmers dominated, securing 1st to 4th places.

Within the 12U age group, Optima swimmers swept 1st to 4th places in the meet, with Peishan leading by 5 points and claiming the top spot. Five swimmers transitioned to the 13-15 age group this year, and despite being the youngest in this competitive category, they exhibited remarkable composure, confidently demonstrating the exceptional skill acquired through dedicated practice. Peiwen secured 3rd place, with a mere 0.4 points difference from the 1st place.

With these outstanding individual performances, the Optima team is now preparing for team routines, anticipating a successful season ahead.
