This year’s Tokyo Olympics is especially endearing to all of us in Optima Synchro because one of our very own alumni – Lindi Schroeder – will represent the US in the duet events, swimming with 2016 Olympian Anita Alvarez. Lindi started her synchro (now known as artistic swimming) career training under Head Coach Svetlana when she was 5 years old. You can learn more about Lindi’s experience in Optima Synchro here. Her hard work, dedication, and grace inspire all our young swimmers and we will cheering for her on Aug-2 for Duet Free Prelim, Aug-3 Duet Tech Prelim, and Aug-4 Duet Free Final. Go Lindi! Go Optima!
Optima Synchro is holding summer practice sessions in Lawrence YWCA for new swimmers to try this exciting Olympic sport. In fact, one of Optima’s alumni is part of the duet team representing the US in the Tokyo Olympics (Go Lindi!). Artistic swimming is a great sport for, yes both girls and boys, who train for endurance, flexibility and mental strength. Come join us and find out if this sport is just the right one for you!
Date & Time: July and August, 2021. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6pm to 7:30pm
Location: Lawrence YWCA

This past weekend, we had a team BBQ – the first event to welcome the new season. It was a great time for the swimmers and families to catch up after the summer, and welcome new members to the Optima family. Heartfelt gratitude to the Diamantis for hosting an awesome event. Also a big Thank You to Walden Local Meat for sponsoring our delicious burgers which were gone in no time. Thanks for everyone who pitched in. We are looking forward to another year of swimming, competing and having fun together.
