This past weekend, we had a team BBQ – the first event to welcome the new season. It was a great time for the swimmers and families to catch up after the summer, and welcome new members to the Optima family. Heartfelt gratitude to the Diamantis for hosting an awesome event. Also a big Thank You to Walden Local Meat for sponsoring our delicious burgers which were gone in no time. Thanks for everyone who pitched in. We are looking forward to another year of swimming, competing and having fun together.
Thank you for coming to our annual show. It was always a touching moment to send off our graduating senior in the candle routine. It felt wonderful to swim with special guests from the Synchromaid. All swimmer put in their best effort swimming their routines, and the novice swimmers always made everyone smile when they swam the “Hello Baby” routine.
Special thanks to Stachey’s Pizza for donating many delicious pizzas for the show. They kept our swimmers happy and energized as well as helped us raise money for our team. Thank you!
Four more days to go until our annual show this coming Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Greater Lawrence Technical High School. Our swimmers are working feverishly to rehearse their routines, or learn to fly for the first time (or the umpteenth time) ! Your support is what keep their going day-in and day-out. You can buy your tickets online here.
If you ask any synchro families what they have a lot in their house, most likely the answer is … swim suit. When the team heard the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence’s need for gently used swim suits, we jumped at the opportunity to give back to the community where the team practices. Within two weeks, the team donated 28 suits. Yesterday, our lovely team ambassadors proudly presented the donations to the club. Big thanks to all families who participated. Go Optima!
