Svetlana Malinovskaya

Head Coach

Svetlana began her coaching career in 1997 at the School of Synchronized Swimming of Olympic Reserve in Minsk, Belarus. After immigrating to the United States she started working as an Assistant Coach for the New Canaan Aquianas. In 2007 Svetlana was appointed Head Coach of ANA Synchro in Andover, Massachusetts. Here she built the largest team in the US and among her many achievements she was the only Head Coach in the team’s history to develop three National Team athletes at the 11-12 age group level, at Age Group Nationals coach a top 3 finish for 2 solos and 2 trios at the 11-12 and 18-19 age-group level, and coach a top 10 finish for team competition in the 11-12, 13-15, 16-17 and 18-19 age group. Toma Ikonnykoya

Coach

Toma has been coaching at Optima Synchro since 2015, where she currently leads the 13-15 Age Group and Junior Combo teams. Her passion for coaching started as the stretching coach for the Lindenwood University synchronized swimming team where she developed a flexibility program for the team.

Prior to coaching, she was a member of Ukraine’s national synchronized swimming team for four years, participating in the 2009 European Championship (2nd place), 2010 European Championship, 2010 European Championship, 2010 World Championship, and 2011 European Championship (3rd place).


Nicole Carzo

Coach

Nicole was a synchronized swimmer for 10 years. Throughout her time competing, she earned a gold medal on the national level and gold, silver, and two bronze medals at international competitions. She was a 3-time elected captain and served as an assistant coach while still swimming on the team for two years. Nicole graduated from Tufts University and has joined the coaching staff at Optima Synchro where she works with all levels and age groups.


Sachiko Hagiya

Coach

Sachiko was a synchronized swimmer for 10 years and has earned a gold medal at the national level. She was a 3-time elected captain and served as an assistant coach while still swimming on the team. Sachiko was a student-athlete in college and graduated from Soka University of America (Aliso Viejo, CA) in 2020. She joined the coaching staff at Optima Synchro in 2021 where now she works with all levels and age groups.
