Optima Synchro Shines at East Zone Invitational

NORTON, MA – Optima Synchro earned five medals at the 2017 East Zone Invitational on March 18-19, held at Wheaton College, with top 3 finishes from the trio of Xavia Banigan, Emma Diamantis, and Noelle Lee along with individual placements from Bonnie Li, Natalie Taylor, and Frida Vazquez-Gomez.

“It was exciting to see our swimmers’ development in the duet, trio, and team routine events,” said head coach Svetlana Malinovskaya. “They’re learning how to come together under a pressure-filled environment, and this competition will build their confidence for the season.”

10 & under intermediate figures: 3rd – Natalie Taylor of Andover

10 & under intermediate duet: 6th – Isabella Martin of Andover and Natalie Taylor

11-12 intermediate trio: 3rd – Xavia Banigan of North Reading, Emma Diamantis of Andover, and Noelle Lee of Bedford

11-12 intermediate team: 4th – Xavia Banigan, Emma Diamantis, Noelle Lee, Isabella Martin, Natalie Taylor

12 & under age group solo: 2nd – Bonnie Li of Concord

12 & under age group figures: 5th – Bonnie Li

12 & under age group duet: 5th – Xavia Banigan and Bonnie Li

13-15 age group solo: 1st – Frida Vazquez-Gomez of Cambridge

13-15 age group figures: 2nd – Frida Vazquez-Gomez
